when i was fifteen or sixteen, i really wanted to go to paris. i feel like every teenager goes through that phase where they’re just dying to go to paris. my mom and i were going to go to france the summer i graduated from high school. my mom always said all we would pack was our toothbrush and we would buy all new clothes when we got there. my passport photo was horrible. but, ethan had soccer tournaments all summer long and we both decided that we didn’t want to miss those so we postponed our france trip indefinitely. i don’t think i minded very much because i was seventeen at that time, and my ‘paris’ phase had passed…
but now, that feeling is coming back and i am dying to go to france. maybe because i’m older and i associate it with more than just amélie and the eiffel tower. or maybe i’m lying and the truth is it’s because i’ve been watching too many great films that revolve around paris…
i don’t know. but i do know that if i had an option of jumping on a plane and leaving for somewhere far…i would choose france.
